You know, mommy insists that she loves me and that she wanted a little boy first, however, I have to question her sincerity when she puts me in a dress for such a big occasion. She keeps saying that a dress is customary for boys at a baptism, but I think she just likes to make me look ridiculous. In spite of my disappointment with my outfit, I did very well on Sunday. I didn't cry once, not even a peep during the entire mass, or even when they poured the water on my head. Afterwards, Father Blanchard paraded me to the front of the church and showed me off to all the adoring fans in the congregation. I sat serenely in his arms and just took the whole scene in. Mommy and Daddy were so thrilled with my behavior that they threw a party afterwards at Gramps and Abuela's house. Here I am with the folks and all four grandparents:
Perhaps you'll notice how mommy's arm is straining under my weight. That's because this one shot required about 50 attempts, and I'm quite heavy. It's a good thing mommy lifts weights. Which brings me to the second event that's happened around here. Today I had my four month check up. I now weigh 17 lbs. 2 oz., and I'm 25.5 inches long. That's 90th percentile for weight, and 75th for height. Some of my chins appear to have disappeared. Mommy thinks this is because I'm getting longer, and less round. But the way I've been eating the last couple of days, this may change. I performed well for the doctor, showing him how I can prop myself up on my arms when on my belly, how I like to reach and grab for things, and then put them in my mouth. I laughed for him, blew bubbles for him, kick my fat little legs, and finally showed him my excellent lung capacity when his evil nurse stabbed me three times. She's such a pretty lady, I can't figure out why she went into such a wicked profession.Any hoo, I'm in a much better mood now, and have already flirted with a client in the office today. Mommy would love for me to take a nap, but I don't really see that in my future.
Saturday is the crawfish boil for Gramps's birthday. I expect there will be much adoration and cheering with my presence. I'll be sure to fill you all in on Monday.
Toodles until next time,
Thomas
