Mommy's Day

Yesterday was mommy's big day. Her first one ever, and so I wanted to make sure it was extra special. That's right, I didn't do any screaming over the weekend, and that was the best gift I could have given her.

Daddy and I made a weekend of it for Mommy. On Saturday morning we (me) woke up extra early and ate breakfast. Then we packed up the car with my stroller and Amos and drove downtown to stroll around the Farmer's Market. I got to ride in my fancy stroller without the car seat.

As you can see, Mommy is still insisting on the ridiculous hat, but since it was her weekend, I let it slide.

After the Farmer's Market, we drove over to American Mart right by LSU for some sandwiches. I like to go there because there are lots of young college girls who stop in for fruity drinks before heading to the pool. I bet they don't know that I'm available for cabana boy duties. I'll have to wear my swimsuit next time so they can see my muscles. Poor Daddy is so embarrassed by my drooling around the ladies. He doesn't notice them because he, of course, only has eyes for mommy, but he's a good sport and indulges me on these trips. That Daddy, he's quite the giver.

After AM Mart, we headed home to eat, and this strange man stopped by. Daddy kept calling him The Freeze. He was really loud, and at first I was a little leery of him,

but he wasn't so bad. I let him hold me, (mommy insisted he wash his hands, even though she doesn't normally do that), and I didn't cry or look scared. He said a lot of funny things,
but we could all agree on the fact that I was quite the looker. The Freeze has passed my test, and it is acceptable if he would like to come around and look at me adoringly in the future.

On Sunday we (me) again woke early ready to eat. Just because it's mommy's special day doesn't mean she gets to sleep late. But the good news is that I allowed her to have a lazy day for the rest of the day, even granting her the gift of a nap that afternoon. Daddy made her what I can only presume was a delicious lunch of steak and bacon wrapped green beans, and then we went to Abuela and Gramps's house for dinner. Aunt Chimene and Uncle Al were there too, because apparently yesterday was also Abuela's day. Aunt Chimene gave mommy a great gift, pictures of ME! Last Saturday while I visited Abuela and Gramps, she took some secret pictures of me looking especially cute and happy. Here are a couple of shots from the session.

There would have been more, but I was too "hefty" for the third outfit she brought, and therefore was not pleased when they attempted to put it on me.

All in all I believe mommy had the best weekend ever. I hope she doesn't get too used to it, because there's only so much goodness I can dole out. Speaking of doling things out, I think it's time for a diaper change. See ya soon.
